Dr. Gaitan is always available after hours on his designated cell phone to address any healthcare concerns that arise. This cell phone is not text message enabled.
However, our members do have the option to partake in a Telemedicine Video Appointment with Dr. Gaitan after normal business hours. The Telemedicine option serves as a medical face-to-face appointment for matters that are urgent and cannot wait until the next business day. Appointments are available from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on weekdays and the weekends from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Thereafter, you should only use the designated cellphone number provided to you on your membership card.
NOTE: Telemedicine Video Appointments for patients established with Dr. Gaitan's practice are billable. Members are responsible for all portions of the visit not covered by insurance. The Telemedicine option is by appointment only with Dr. Gaitan and does not replace required in-office appointments.
Absolutely! You will be admitted under Dr. Gaitan's service. Dr. Gaitan will be the only physician managing your care and rounding on you daily. You will not be followed at any point by a Physician Assistant, Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, Resident, or Hospitalist. Dr. Gaitan will see you personally and manage your care all the way through from admission to discharge. Dr. Gaitan's primary hospital of choice is Missouri Baptist Medical Center; however, he has privileges at Barnes West County Hospital and Barnes-Jewish Hospital.
In the rare instance that Dr. Gaitan is out of the office, he has made arrangements with another Creve Coeur based physician who will handle your healthcare needs or see you in their respective office (if required).
Dr. Gaitan has an excellent rapport with the best specialists in St. Louis. If a referral to a specialist is required, our medical staff initiates these appointments on your behalf. Due to the extensive relationship that Dr. Gaitan has with his colleagues, appointments are typically expedited.
Per the Terms and Conditions, patients are to refrain from emailing Dr. Gaitan during what is an emergency circumstance. In the event of a true medical emergency, members (or their family) are to dial 911 or proceed safely to the nearest emergency room.
If your healthcare circumstance requires immediate attention but is not an emergency, patients are to call the office during normal business hours. If it is after normal business hours, Dr. Gaitan's after-hours cell should be utilized.
